Frequently asked questions

Buying a property, whether to live in as your home, have as an investment or to build and grow your business, can be exciting, and daunting. We consider ourselves to be your partner in this process, so please ask any questions you may have. We’ve covered a few we get asked a lot here.

  • How to access the FCD Guarantee?
    We won’t wait for you to contact us if there is a problem. On the day you move in, we will arrange a full property inspection in 6 months time. You can, of course, contact us at any time before then but this inspection will be carried out by Sean or Tony, once you’ve had a chance to settle in. This means if there are any little issues niggling you, that you wouldn’t normally bother to report, we catch them, we fix them and you carry on living in complete comfort. We design and build to the very highest standards, far in excess of the legislated minimum, but things can still happen. Our guarantee to you is we’ll simply fix them so everything is as we intended it to be.
  • Do you offer Part Exchange?
    We don’t participate in the official Government scheme for part exchange, but we do buy land and property. If you don’t want to sell your existing property through the normal route, via an agent, we can certainly take a look and see if it something we can acquire or arrange a sale on your behalf. This isn’t a guarantee to buy, but we will absolutely conduct a viewing if your property meets our criteria.
  • Do you offer Help to Buy?
    Again, we don’t offer this via the Government scheme but for serious buyers we can consider some alternatives. This is done on an individual basis and is dependent on your circumstances and the property you are interested in. We are people and we’ll have a conversation so see if we can work together on a solution that gets you into your dream home.
  • Can I rent from you?
    Occasionally we will choose to rent our homes, rather than sell them. This would normally be done via a lettings agent.
  • Do you have a referral scheme?
    Yes we do! If you know of anyone, a friend, family member or colleague Who is in the market to buy a property, residential or commercial, we’d love to hear from them. We try to keep this really simple, without too many rules. If your friend tells us you referred them, or you tell us your friend is coming for a viewing, we will note your details. If that person goes on to purchase, we will pay you a finders fee of £500.
